30 Days of New Doctor Who | 27. Scene/Moment That Made You Go “Argh”

As much as I adore this show, there have been quite a few times that made me want to rage or throw my computer out of my window. No joke. But seriously? Worst final lines ever. Now, I won’t lie, I did cry my eyes out over the last 40 or so minutes because this is me and I tend to get over-emotional about things, but this bothered me so much upon subsequent re-watches. For me, it seemed to contradict so much of “The Christmas Invasion”, an episode deliberately set up to ease the audience (and Rose) into the regeneration process by stressing again and again that while he may look different now, he’s still ultimately the same man. Yet in these two episodes (particularly that scene with Wilf in part one), they were saying the exact opposite. People were already anxious about the change of hands for series five and everything new that was to come, so having these scenes that seemed to heighten the doubts and anxiety was so unnecessary, in my opinion. I just did not like this. At all.
